da Vinci® General Surgery
Surgery is often an effective treatment for many abdominal and GI conditions, but traditional open surgery with a large incision is highly invasive. The good news is our surgeons know da Vinci.
da Vinci is so much more than an artistic master of painting, sculpture and invention. In the world of general surgery, the name is synonymous with breakthrough technology developed with the patient in mind. Drs. Cobos and Chambers are trained in the use of the da Vinci Surgical System, which offers minimally invasive surgical procedures designed to reduce pain and promote better outcomes and shorter hospital stays.
Experience Advanced Surgical Care, Compliments of da Vinci
Instead of the large abdominal incision used in open surgery, da Vinci allows us to make a few small incisions ― similar to traditional laparoscopy ― or a single small incision. However, unlike traditional laparoscopy the da Vinci robotic system features a magnified 3D high-definition vision system and special wristed instruments that bend and rotate far greater than the human wrist. As a result, da Vinci enables us to operate with enhanced vision, precision, dexterity and control.
da Vinci Single-Site® Surgery
If you have severe gallbladder symptoms, surgery to remove your gallbladder may be your best option. Thankfully, it’s an organ you can live without. Our surgeons are skilled in the use of da Vinci Single-Site surgery, a technique that allows us to operate through one small incision made in your navel (belly button). Patients who choose da Vinci Single-Site surgery for gallbladder removal experience virtually scarless results.
da Vinci Multi-Port Surgery
For minimally invasive surgeries that are more complex in nature than gallbladder removal, our surgeons may recommend a da Vinci Multi-Port procedure. With multi-port surgery, we use a few small incisions, or ports, about the size of a dime through which the robot’s arms are passed and surgical instruments can be precisely manipulated.
Complex surgery doesn’t have to mean invasive surgery, thanks to state-of-the-art da Vinci surgical and robotics technologies. Ask us if da Vinci surgery is right for you.
