Dr. Mosier was certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1985 and re-certified in 1994, 2004, and 2014 where he scored in the top 7 percent, 3 percent, 1 percent, and 3 percent in the nation, respectively. He received his undergraduate degree in zoology from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, and his medical degree from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines and was named an Outstanding Graduating Resident in all specialties.
Dr. Mosier has been in private practice in the Denton, Texas, area since 1988. He was the first surgeon in Denton during the 1990s to perform laparoscopic surgeries for gall bladder, acid reflux, hernia and intestinal conditions. His specialties include advanced laparoscopic surgery, including the mini technique.
